The "Riots" in Seattle

Author: Chairman Aldrizh

On May 1, 2015 in Seattle, Washington a series of protests by anarchists, workers, and human rights activists occurred. This may be unsurprising as many, including myself, consider the American Northwest as the heartland of leftism in the United States. But of course the bourgeois had to find a way to curb the demonstrations, twist their image so that many would ignore the message they preached. Despite how left Seattle tends to be, even it is not free from the influence of the bourgeois and in 1999, we were presented a perfect example of how the bourgeois planned to silence those who spoke against them:

But even this May Day followed the events of the past and shortly after the protests began that morning, police detained people for unclear reasons with little to no explanation from many of the groups that were parading around that day.

Instead of listening to the protester's demands for releasing the arrested individuals for doing nothing wrong and having their constitutional rights taken away unjustly, the police arrested MORE protesters for asking questions. It wasn't long after that chaos erupted, the protesters being ill-prepared for a fight yet the police showed up almost like they wanted to start and expected a fight. The protesters attempted to forcefully liberate their comrades when the police did not voice the reason behind their detainment, unfortunately the police were more than prepared and deployed tear gas and pepper spray to subdue the protesters.

In fairness to the police of Seattle, many of the protesters responded too violently to their comrades' capture but in a similar situation, who wouldn't attack the person kidnapping their friends and brothers in the movement for no notable reason?
